HYDROPONIC FARMING – HEAD OF PRODUCTION
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced person to join a new business in Hydroponic Vertical Farming and to create their own future. Mostly we’ll be utilizing Ebb + Flow technique, depending on the situation we will also use NFT, aeroponic and other techniques.
The successful candidate will be experienced in the theory and practical application of modern hydroponic techniques – all the stages from seed selection, growing medium selection, sprouting, optimum growth cycles and condition (lighting, ventilation, and nutrient supply) for each type of plant, through to harvesting. We will be using Growing Trays to minimize manual contact with the plants.
Our focus is to produce a selection of high-quality products – leafy greens, micro-greens and herbs – that taste good and are delivered fresh to our customers utilizing recycled and bio-degradable packaging. Sales will be largely internet based for immediate delivery – high level of customer service.

- Forward projections for:
- production output in each product type
- seed selection and growing medium
- nutrient selection and implementation
- lighting levels and cycles to optimize production
- ventilation and other conditions to optimize production
- Budget projection and monitoring.
- Cost management to comply with budget projections
- Liaise with sales and marketing to tailor production types and quantities to customer preference.
- Liaise with dispatch for seamless and timely sorting, packaging and dispatch.
- Cooperative and respectful management of assisting staff, across all company departments.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
- Hands on experience with hydroponic farming – our business is Vertical hydroponic farming
- Prefer tertiary qualification in biology, agriculture or related disciplines
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to work cooperatively and respect for opinions and efforts of others.
- Ability to match budget and production projections with actual warehouse production
- Always reviewing and evaluating production to evolve successful and efficient work practices.
